The town center of Pove is in the collective imagination of its inhabitants, a space used for the main portion of the surface as vehicle parking, around which gravitate a number of public buildings, such as the parish church, primary school and secondary school, the senior center and the post office. The simultaneous presence of public activities consolidated in the socio-cultural town and the proximity of the town hall, the public library and the surgery make it the ideal place for the functional integration that can create a cultural center. The function of this central space is flexible, multi-purpose, connective and creates exchange between the different educational, social, administrative and cultural activities. It is designed to easily adapt to different needs that should also occur in relation to developments in the world of information. The project is included in this research context, having to measure with the existing built urban space, with the previously historical existing, with the manner of daily use by citizens. The access to the square, which in the project it was decided to maintain, occurred mainly from the axis road south-west, near the senior center. The creation of a link between the volume of the buildings of the primary school and secondary school has created a curtain blocks built linking the two volumes, with a scenic background function for the public space enhanced by the facade of the church and the bell tower. The public library, located adjacent to San Pietro's square, find in the new building a better and more functional position. The structure is organized on three levels, including a basement and two floors above ground. The project involved the construction of a tunnel crossing of the building on the ground floor for a direct connection between the main space of the church square and the historical square of San Pietro. The work has also involved a series of adaptations to the adjacent buildings due to the connection of new structures with the existing ones, allowing to perform a school improving accessibility. The wide staircase allows, recomposing the centrality of urban space, the access to elementary school, also with a wheelchair ramp. The porticos extend even within the school, improving the access to it, and suggesting a covered walk on the square, as a reminder of the avenue of trees along the opposite side. The interior spaces of the ground floor are reserved for commercial and management activities, which are connected directly to the corresponding warehouses through internal stairs. The space on the first floor consists of two large rooms separated by an atrium partially open. The area to the west has been divided into three classrooms for the secondary school, with the toilets, stairs and the elevator shaft. The elementary school has been expanded with two new classrooms placed in continuity with the portico space above the wide staircase. The large volume site to the east near the gym is a wide open space for the acceptance of a multipurpose space which can also be accessed through the wide staircase from a second independent stair. The surfaces overall for the various plans are 3000 meters square. The building structure is made of brick dividing walls built in a grid of reinforced concrete pillars and columns in the central areas and the underground spaces. The building is finished on the outside with plastered surfaces that reflect the form and reference lines as the existing secondary school. The roof is in roof tiles for pitched roof parts and for the flat roof parts it was used the copper covering.
