The building is located within the urban fabric in the historic center of Borso del Grappa, and is part of an ancient terraced house that has only partially kept the original building typology, and which historically was used as a barn and stable. Adjacent on the east side it is connected to the main building, which is currently of different properties but which retains its historical unity and formal architecture, while the volumes to the west have undergone substantial changes over time. The building itself, for the insertion of a workshop in the recent past, has had a profound tampering of the original structures and drill hole patterns but without changing the limits of the perimeter walls. The restoration has restored the current volume with a home use, paying attention to the revival of the original features of the building. The architectural layout has two exterior facades of which the one to the north, for its location, it has a difficult visibility. Its composition of the hole patterns has remained unchanged, recovering a regularity which was lost and using windows with Vicenza wood balconies and stone sills. The study of the main facade facing south, was aimed at the recovery of the two original arches, deliberately separating from the façade the intermediate floor and replacing parts incongruous concrete with bricks and stones. The summital ribbon window has limited perception of the full wall surface, creating a harmony of alignments of the new coverage with the existing one to the east and of the lower part with the upper portion of the wall of the building to the west. It has been established a connection underground of the building with the existing garage which is accessible directly from the street, as an indispensable element to allow its use from the house. The organization of the building volume maintains the same number of floors but their interior repositioning has been revised. The project includes the basement, in the connection area, the technical rooms, a cellar and an elevator that allows you to easily connect the four floors of the structure. On the ground floor are service areas and a hall for various activities; The first floor contains the sleeping area with the bedrooms and bathrooms while the top floor, through the wide continuous view of the slopes of the hills to the south, allows the best use of the living area, designed as a single open space that is organized in kitchen, dining area and living room. The roof is made of wooden beams and terracotta tiles, the details of which can be read internally, where the purlins do not create a regular score but form a geometric composition with rhythmic variations that defines a qualitative view of the space of the living area. The staircase, the element that connects the four levels in which it is organized the house, has a unique visual continuity, thanks to the replacement of the parapets with a series of wires of steel protection that descend and bind in succession the ramps of which it is composed. The materials are iron, for the part supporting cantilever, and the wood for stair treads, designed as slight coating elements.
